Sue and her dad Glenn

   - Assisted Living in Phoenix Arizona

87 year-old Glenn H. lived alone in Sun City, Arizona. Glenn had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's 2 years earlier and had been receiving 8 hours of home health care for the past year to help with daily living needs.  Glenn's daughter, Sue, contacted us from her home in Colorado after Glenn fell in his home. Glenn had developed an infection some days before the fall, something that is common and can lead to increased confusion and dizziness in Seniors. Sue was concerned about Glenn's safety and 24 hour in home care costs were not financially feasible.

Sue arrived in Arizona 2 days after Glenn's fall. We had arranged tours of several care homes, fine-tuning our search based upon our continuing level of knowledge of some of Glenn's more personal needs. Sue was very concerned about her father's considerable reluctance to consider moving out of his home. Working with the family, we shared some of our stories and resources that help families with this difficult transition.  We fine-tuned our focus on Glenn's specific needs and by working so closely with the family we learned that Glenn loves to work in the garden. Each of the community based care homes in our network is unique. We found a wonderful care home for Glenn with a large garden that he can putter in. After moving into the care home, Glenn's overall health improved . Sue has peace-of-mind, knowing that her dad is safe and happy with his new home.
